Tomorrow Josh and I are about to embark on another domestic adventure to Denver Colorado! I’m so so so excited to see mountains again, I fell in love with them in Germany and Austria last year. Also, it’s not 100+ degrees in Denver in September. Actually, the weather forecast for the week sounds GLORIOUS and I could just jump up and down I’m so happy to be leaving Florida’s heat and humidity behind.
We’re only going for a few days and we’re not checking bags so I’ll be using all of my packing tips and trying to fit all of my belongings into a backpack that I borrowed from my stepbrother. haha! Wish me luck, the overpacking struggle is real. 😉 I talked a little bit about what I like to pack in my last travel post, but this time I’ll have to narrow it down even more because my bag has to qualify as a “personal item” and not a carry on. Eye roll. Thanks Frontier Airlines. But, I scored my tickets for $77 round trip and I refuse to turn around and pay $60-$100 for luggage. #nothankyou
I like to actually “get dressed” whenever I’m on vacation. It helps break up the monotony of yoga pants and mom buns, especially since we aren’t bringing the kids. Ya feel me? Although, I’m totally packing a pair of maternity yoga pants. Actually, I’ll be wearing them on the plane in all of their bright purple tie dye glory. #highfashion
So I figured I’ll take you guys along as I pack up my makeup bag for this super awesome mini trip. I’m SO exited to sip PSLs in cool dry weather next to some mountains with my hubby!!! My hair is already rejoicing the lack of humidity. And my skin is already crying.
Here is what made it into the small small bag:
Primer// Nyx Angel Veil
It’s not my all time favorite, but the package is under 3 oz and it is moisturizing. My skin is going to need ALL the moisture in CO.
Foundation// Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
I seriously LOVE this stuff. I don’t know why more people don’t talk about it. It’s super cheap, dewy, can survive Florida’s heat, and I love the way it sits on my skin. I’ve gone through like 3 bottles, I grabbed 3 more last time they were on sale clearance (for $2.99!) at Ulta. I have one in my summer time tan skin shade, and one in my winter time skin shade, always. Seriously, love.
Concealer// Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous
I have only been using this product for a short while, so I can’t report on whether or not I love it yet. But it does get the job done, and with minimal creasing. Importante.
Setting Powder// Nyx Face Powder
Also not my favorite, but I can’t bring my Kat Von D Contour palette and I’m out of my Rimmel translucent face powder. Which I also love.
Face// Urban Decay Naked Flushed
I’ve raved about this before, and I will rave about it again. It’s always my go to for traveling. Blush, bronzer, and highlight…one palette, UD quality. You can’t beat it, especially when space saving is the goal!
Eye Shadow// Stila In the Light Palette
This is honestly on of my most used palettes. It’s not too fancy, but not too boring either. It’s a great neutral palette for travel. Also, I’ve hit pan on like half the colors so I won’t be too devastated if I break it en route. ;P
Mascara// Covergirl Flamed Up
Because there is always coupons for this stuff, so I always have some. I like it. Not as much as my L’Oreal Carbon Black…but I’m about out of that and this kind is okay too.
Skin// Lush’s Ultra Bland and MACs Lightful C Vibrancy Eye Cream
Because my skin is dry, and Denver is dry. Ultra Bland is a pretty thick moisturizer and I like to use it before bed and then wash my face with something lighter in the morning. MACs eye cream is SO overpriced for this tiny bottle, but it’s awesome. Because I’m a mom and my eye bags are Chanel. 😉
Brushes// Victoria’s Secret Travel Kit
I got this little travel size brush kit for Christmas YEARS ago and it’s awesome for travel (obviously.) I don’t know why VS cut back on their beauty line so badly, they had some good stuff. I’m not sure if anything of the sort is even available anymore.
