Life + Lunches: Toddler Lunches

Oh hey there, friends! Long time no see.

I took a whole week long blogging hiatus. I know, this is a no no in the blogging world, but sometimes the real world is awfully demanding…like midterms kinda demanding. It’s a super good thing that this is my last full time semester, because honestly I don’t know if I have it in me to do another. I often find myself chanting in my head “just make it to December, Just make it to December…” I can do this!

The weather in the F-L is absolutely gorgeous today! Like, in the 70s. You northerners think that’s summer weather, but it was 68 when we left for VPK this morning and I made Jace wear a sweater. lol.

We took our annual trip to Hunsader Farms. Pretty much the only fall festival like event around here. But it is always fun all the same. I bought apples for a dollar a pound, ONE DOLLAR… for a WHOLE pound. Yes, I know I am officially an old lady, when the cheap apples were the highlight of my day at the pumpkin patch. haha! I also realized that I forgot my CAMERA when we go there. I was SO bummed. Hunsader is the land of perfect fall photo ops, especially with little kids, and I forgot my damn camera! ugh! But I’ll probably share all of my iPhone quality photos later!

The kids going to school (even part time) has been pretty fun for fall too! The school has these cute little events and crafts, making the season feel more festive, even if it is 90 degrees outside. The kids are REALLY enjoying school. They like it so much that I’m almost offended. 😉 No not really… I’m learning to like it too.

They only go for a whole day twice a week. But I actually think it’s fun to make their lunches for Tuesdays and Thursdays! Which is a good thing because my kids are both pretty picky, so I imagine that I will be making their lunches for years to come!

Some of my friends tease me because we purchase a lot of organic stuff. Basically anything with an organic option at Publix, I buy. So Apple and Eve was nice enough to send us some of their organic juice products to try!

I don’t always send juice in their lunches, because I really like those Horizon chocolate milk juice boxes, but when I do send juice I’m glad for an organic option!

Zoey isn’t allowed to bring ANY form of peanut butter to school, as a child in her class is allergic, so I have to get creative with her lunches. I mean, the toddler snack world is basically drenched in peanut butter? Amirite?? At least picky-Jace can have peanut butter, because I’m pretty sure that he would rather starve than eat anything else.

Oh, and Rubbermaid makes these awesome things called “Lunch Blox” and I’m in love with them. The bottoms of each container can snap into the lids, so you can stack them all together if you want to. It’s pretty cool. Also, if you’re on some kinda diet, there is measurements on each container!

Cool Tip: Keep the ranch/condiments in a foil cupcake liner, it keeps things from getting soggy. Miss Zo LOVES her some ranch and carrot chips. I make lunches the night before, so this has really helped!

It’s great to be back! Homework is no where near as fun as talking to you. 😉

Do you pack your kids lunches? What do you pack them?

That’s awesome that you were able to get a lb of apples for $1! I’d say that is def winning. I’ve never heard of these drinks before. I remember drinking similar drinks when I was younger. Thank You for sharing!
