Color Pop Cosmetics Review

Happy Monday friends!

You see, I work retail and I don’t start school until Wednesday so I am allowed to be happy on Mondays. Retail life doesn’t adhere to the “yay it’s the weekend!” mentality.

I like to buy makeup. It’s sort of a problem that I have. Yeah, me and the majority of the female (and some male) population. I especially like to buy it when I don’t have to pay full price for it. And the blogging world was just in a Colour Pop frenzy and they had a $5 off coupon + free shipping… so it was basically like they made me do it.

They send it to you with this adorable little note, which I was pretty much too excited about. How did they know that I love bananas??

Also, super cute little info cards. I’m a sucker for good marketing, okay?!

I wanted to try a little of everything. So I ordered 3 shadows, each in a different finish, a blush, a highlighter, and a lippie stix.

They are THE WEIRDEST texture ever. Not necessarily in a bad way, but weird none the less.

Initial Reaction: They’re kind of like a fancier ELF. For the price range I like them better than ELF.

I think the eye shadows are my favorite. Although, I can only use them with my fingers, a brush just doesn’t seem to grab that texture right.

Now, I think I love the highlighter. It’s a champagne-y color called Lunch Money. And how cute is that? But, I don’t have a high end highlighter to compare it to. I mean, I have a Sephora brand one in a contour palette but I’ve never really liked that one… so it’s better than that one. ha!

Colour Pop Cosmetics Review Lunch Money

I kind of feel like a glowing illuminated goddess when I wear it. This is good, yes? Also, I am aware the my messy bun is WAYYYY past the cute messy stage. Whoops.

Colour Pop Cosmetics Review

The color that I have for lippie stix is called “westie” and it’s pretty mild. It is a matte finish and is kind of dry. I wear eos lip balm underneath. But honestly, I’ve never found a matte lipstick that didn’t dry out my dessert lips anyway, so I’m not surprised.

Now I think the blush works fine. But I have a friend who fancies herself a makeup artist (and I guess I fancy her one too since I’ve paid her to do my make up before, haha!) that really doesn’t like it! It’s not the longest lasting blush I’ve ever worn, but I have the color “trickery” and I really like the color.

So for $5 an item (and even less since I had the coupon) I would say they’re a bit better than I expected! I would like to try some of their other products too so I suppose I’ll call them a win!

How about you? Have you tried Colour Pop?! You should probably pop on over to their website and give them a go if not. You see what I did there?? 😉

That highlighter is gorgeous on you! Definitely want to pick up some things from this line soon — I’ve been putting it off for so long.

I have two of their highlights and they are very, very good and comparable to high end ones. I also love love love their lippie stix (I own about 10 of them) and find that the ones in a glossy or creme finish are hydrating and long lasting! For the price yo just cannot beat it!

I saw your post on the lippies! For $5 they are awesome. I really want to try those liquid matte lipsticks that they have too. Have you tried those yet?

yes, I have 4 and I really like them. They can be a little drying, but if I put a little lip balm over it after it dries, I’m all set!

Hmmm. Good review. The eyeshadows remind me of cream shadow from Color Tattoo, which I love.
