Hooky

On Tuesday… I did something awful…….

I stayed home. ALL day. I know it might not sound horrible, but I hadn’t stayed home for one whole day in 44 days. Yes, I am crazy. & yes, it was GLORIOUS. No work, no school, just babies. 🙂 I have been going to school full time, on my two days off from work… for 44 straight days. Did I mention that part? UGHH! Kind of exhausting.

But the worst part was Jace. He cries hysterically every time I leave for work. He says he wants me to “stay here,” or that he “wants to work with me.” He never used to cry when I left, and it pretty much rips my soul out of my throat and throws it through the garbage disposal. I feel so guilty! He’s not used to me being gone all of the time. 🙁

Zoey gets so excited to see me when I come home, that she cries (she’s sort of the emotional type :P.) So there’s crying when I leave, crying when I come home. You get it, it sucks.

But on Tuesday – I played hooky. And me and the babes went to the park and played in the fountains, made friends, and shared toys and pretzels. I basked in the simplicity that is a day off, full of sunshine in the oh-so-rainy Florida. I even ate pretzels that fell on the sidewalk. That’s right… THAT is how carefree I was feeling on this day! 😉

We walked down the strip to the little ice-cream shop and ate Superman flavored ice-cream. Obviously. Jace even showed the ice-cream man his butt cheeks, because he couldn’t get his soggy bathing suit all the way up over his butt when he came out of the bathroom. Ha! Apparently Jace was feelin’ the the carefree vibes as well. 😉

Then we visited Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, always a hoot (probably because they always have cookies.) Although, my Grandma is always the first to let you know if you look like you’ve gained weight. 😉 This time, there were hot dogs and cookies, Zoey was in heaven. Chubby toddler heaven.

And by the time we finally got home… DADDY WAS THERE!!! And since it was one of my days off from work, we even all got to eat dinner together. HAAAYY! We were fatties together and ate Pizza. 😉 In our defense it was Amy’s Pizza, which is organic. ;P Haha!

But it was a truly wonderful day. I SO needed the break. One whole guilt free, professor free, boss free, day. Nothin’ like hangin’ with your kids at the splash pad to remind you that it’s the simple things in life that mean the most.

Also, is anyone else freaking out about the fact that it is already OCTOBER?! I really need to get on his Halloween and birthday business.
