Christmas Home Tour 2017

It’s the most wonderful time of year… said every blogger’s first sentence for the last month. 😀 I’m not even complaining. I’m so sad that it’s Christmas Eve Eve already. I’m always so sad when the season comes to an end. I don’t feel like I watched enough Christmas movies, or listened to enough carols, or eaten enough cookies. Strike that last one… definitely eaten enough cookies. And I know I’m late to the party on sharing this one (as usual)…but better late then never, I say! So today I’m sharing a little Christmas home tour of our cutie little townhouse!

I always tell Josh that I love our little townhouse; and I actually do. Last year we rented a giant house and I thought I would like it… but I totally hated it! If the townhouse had a nice yard… it would be perfect. Totally missing our yard these days. But I’ve definitely learned that size isn’t everything when it comes to liking your home. I also miss my house in Florida a lot. I wish I could just move it to Colorado. Ha.

The townhouse is so cozy with the Christmas decorations up. I’m totally a red and gold girl when it comes to Christmas decor. Except for the trees. I love pine trees, and Christmas trees, and pine tree candles… and… you get the idea.

I’m starting to love the minimalistic Scandinavian style more and more, but I already have so much red that I just role with it every year. I still love it. Maybe I’ll get to be a minimalist when I don’t have a million kids one day.

One of my favorite things to decorate is always my bookshelf. I’ve literally had this bookshelf since middle school. It’s from Peir 1 and it is a trooper. I don’t even know HOW MANY times I have moved it. Be it my clunky middle school stereo or my move across country the more I bang it up the more I like it.

Our townhouse is pretty compact — it’s kind of one of the things that I like about it. And I only decorate downstairs. Upstairs is pretty much all toys and dirty laundry if I’m being totally real with you. But our living room/dining room/kitchen are all almost kinda sorta one space. But I like it because I can see all my decorations no matter where I’m sitting. 🙂

I got that light up garland from Hobby Lobby like YEARS ago on super clearance after Christmas and I finally found a way to use it. I love when it illuminates the whole kitchen and the tree lights up the living room at the same time. Allllll the heart eye emojis. It’s the little things, friends.

Maybe it’s not much but it’s ours. Christmas is my absolute favorite favorite time of year and I’m learning that it doesn’t matter so much where I spend it. It’s snowing today and it looks like I might get my first white Christmas since I was thirteen. I’m so excited!

I hope you all enjoy your Christmas Eve Eve, and all the days after it too. <3
