Oh happy day! It’s still “winter time” in SWFL. Today it was actually in the 40s when we got up. Yes, we get days like that… very rarely, and only until the sun warms us back up. I love it… my mother in law hates it. haha! Jace is just excited to wear his “snow coat” around (he’s never seen snow) and Zoey rocks an ADORABLE jean jacket. I. Could. Die. Literally loved it so much that I bought a jean vest at Target today. What can I say? My 3 year old is my fashion muse.
Also, as of late…she’s my make up muse. 😉
You know that she has inspired you as well. I’m sensing that lipstick brows might be a huge trend in 2016. Just saying…you heard it here first.
Seriously though. One of my favorite things about Florida winter is the slightly-less-humid days. The kids and I play outside a lot regardless of season, and this cooler weather means slightly less makeup melting.
Even though I know for a fact that my current eyeshadow palette favorites would also survive Florida’s humidity, here are the eyeshadow palettes that I’m loving right now.
The Urban Decay’s Naked Smoky Palette
The funny thing is, that I didn’t even want this palette. There was some hype when it was released and it just looked uninteresting to me. It might be the way that they put all of the dark colors in the middle, but it just looked like give-yourself-a-black-eye kit.
My sweet husband got it for me for Christmas, and I wasn’t telling him that I didn’t want it. But I’ll tell you… I’m thinking about letting Josh pick out all of my makeup palettes because upon actually using it…I love it.
Because I’m like every other person on the planet… and I am extremely busy…I go for the smoky eyed look a lot. Pretty simple + looks super fancy = I’m all about it. It has not forsaken it’s name, it’s perfect. Also, shout out to Urban Decay for having more than 2 matte shades in this Naked Palette!
Urban Decay’s Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette
All hail Gwen, I know.
This is another one that I never wanted, but hubby bought me for Christmas. But, I wear it more than any of my others. It’s like the Naked Basics Palettes with some extra colors. It’s perfect for when I get up at 5am for work, and don’t have time for all that blending nonsense, and I go for all matte nude shades. But, I’ve used the purple and blue a lot as well. It’s definitely NOT a boring palette like I originally thought. It’s getting a lot of use ’round here.
THEN I saved the best for last…
I have died and gone to eyeshadow heaven. It is my favorite palette ever. Like, ever. I mean, Jaclyn Hill name drops the 35O and everyone freaks out, and then missed out on the gem! Actually, it is sold out on and off too…so if you can get your hands on one…DO IT! It is called the “Koffee” palette, and look…besides the blues and grays…they do look like different shades of coffee. ha! Love at first sight.
If I lived in a cruel cruel world where I could only have one palette for the rest of my life…this would be it. It’s warm, it’s cool, it’s brown, and it’s blue. It has SUPER pigmented shimmers, and a WHOLE BUNCH of mattes, instead of 3 or 4. GET YOU ONE.
How about you? What makeup finds are you loving this winter?! Let me know. I love wasting money on more makeup that I don’t need. 😉
Stay silly, friends! And let your children play in your makeup too. 😉
