Hello old friends!
I know that I have been virtually M.I.A. for about a month and half now… by the end of the semester my schedule was just too crazy. I had no time to do any of the things that I wanted to do, only the things that I needed to do. BUT THAT’S ALL OVER NOW! I officially finished my last full time semester of undergrad, I only have two classes to finish up my degree the spring!
I officially missed out on the opportunity to blog about all of the cute stuff that happens between ย October and November with my little family. Like, Halloween (I made Zoey’s costume,) the kids’ birthday party, Thanksgiving, Black Thursday/Friday (you know its true,) and the start of Christmas season. It’s a bummer because even though I complain about being overwhelmingly busy a lot, I am so lucky to have all of the opportunities to be so busy,ย and I like sharing all of my pretty cool adventures. Well, I think they’re pretty cool.
While I’ve been gone my babies have continued to grow, I spent far too many hours staring into a word document, not enough hours sleeping,ย we trick-or-treated, and shared Thanksgiving with our families. I’ve been less active on Instagram, but if you follow me there you’ve been able to keep up with a little bit.
Obviously, I have compiled a MASSIVE photo dump for you all, ya know, to get you back up to speed. ๐
First, we had Halloween…
Jace was a “fire fighter-fighter” and Miss Zo was a “witch-halloween.”
Zoey and I made her little tutu. She picked out the tulle. She was going to wear little striped stockings too, but it ended up being like 100 degrees on Halloween, so we did without those. ha!
I went as a witch as well… the Wicked Witch actually. I bought a hat put some green eyeshadow all over my face and called it a day.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I usually try my best to channel my inner Busy Budgeting Mama (now athomewithnatalie.com) for my kids gender neutral party themes. BUT this year fell short of all of my Pinterest mama dreams as I just did not have the time (or cash) to make our “Under the Sea” party as cool as it really could have been. BUT we did get like a 40 foot water slide, that even all of the adults played on… so at the end of the day, I’d still call it a win.
This is my first year as a mama with a child in school. We had to make a shadow box for Jace’s Thanksgiving project. We made toilet paper roll turkeys and pilgrims to put inside. ๐ I brined my own turkey for Thanksgiving too! Talk about a lot of work.
We had Thanksgiving Day at Josh’s aunts house. She has THE MOST photogenic back yard ever. HELLLOOOO marble fence and blurry bokeh backgrounds. (insert heart eye emoji here.) Oh, and Josh’s other aunt got THE CUTEST puppy a couple month earlier. JUST look at him!!!
I am so undeservingly lucky for this beautiful family of mine. I am always thankful for them. <3
Happy Thanksgiving!
We set up the tree right after Thanksgiving. And I got these ADORABLE jammies on Black Friday at Target for like $8. Worth every penny.
We’ve been busy with Christmas festivities since I finished school last Tuesday. I may or may not have danced around my house after submitting my last assignment, minutes before it was due. I think I scared my husband. But I feel so free. Sometimes when I’ve been doing regular mom things for so long I feel panicked for a second before I remember that I don’t have any homework to be working on. My brain doesn’t know what to do with all of the free time, and I haven’t a clue what’s going on in the world… because I’m refusing to read the paper for a few weeks, just because I can.
Phew! That was a lot of pictures… but now you’re pretty much all filled in. I’m glad to be back on my little ol’ blog. I truly do enjoy it. Here’s to hoping for a life filled with more of what I like doing, now that full time school is in the past… for now! ๐
