Well, today was the day. Jace started VPK today. It’s so weird, SO weird. Five years goes by like nothing once you have kids. Sad face. He loved it though. He can’t wait to go back tomorrow. So I guess that’s a good thing. Zoey starts her Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same school tomorrow too, so we’ll see how that goes.
He’s so darn cute, I could just die.
Today was totally a Monday though. You might recall in my last post, that the Monday rule doesn’t apply to me because I work retail. Well, now that school is in session I’m eating my words and I take it all back. We had to rush around like crazy people trying to get ready because Jace, no matter how excited he is about school, is just NOT a morning person. Then, I no matter how many years I got up early for school/work myself, will never be a morning person. So we do really wonderfully together in the morning, you can imagine.
THEN, Daddy (who works nights) didn’t wake up in time to pick Jace up from school at 1130! And I was in class a good hour+ away…so my mom had to go get him! lol. We’re off to a great start, but Jace was more than happy to stay a little late.
We’re going to miss summer around here. So this past weekend we kept ourselves busy outside. I had some sparklers left from the fourth of July. I wanted to try out the long exposure photos that people play around with with them! It was pretty cool!
The kids had a ball. I won’t miss these mosquitos though. My goodness they are brutal this year!
R is for Rinehart. 😉 I might frame that one.
I’m especially going to miss the super late sunsets. In Florida it’s been light out until like 8:30 at night. It’s great. It’s so hot during the day I can’t bring the kids into the backyard until after 6 or so.
There has been huge tree frogs hanging out in our clubhouse. Jace, ever so cleverly, has named all of them…”Jace.”
I liked this picture of Oakley because it kind of shows how big he is for once. He always looks smaller in photos than he actually is. He looks all vicious with that stick in his mouth, I promise he wouldn’t hurt a fly. 😉
Anyways… I hope you all had a great summer and that you’re psyched for autumn and the new school year.
Are you ready for PUMPKIN EVERYTHING?!!
Here’s a recap of some of my favorite posts from this summer!
