To Purchase A Suitcase…

Hey guys!

So I apparently broke the nice HUGE suitcase my grandma gave to me while we were on our cruise last year. And apparently, I was not as upset as I should have been about it because luggage is CRAZY expensive!  I just realized that I have never had to purchase my own suitcase…as I think I have been stealing my grandmother’s for my entire life. { Shout Out to my Gram on that one, love ya! 😉 }

ANYWAYS. So off to Bealls I went yesterday to buy Josh and I new suitcases. UMMM a suitcase the size of my old one runs about $200. What is my life?! Lucky for me, Bealls was running a sale and they take coupons right off of your phone! So I paid less than $130 for 2 huge suitcases! WOOT!  Seriously though… that’s still expensive. Ha!

I considered borrowing suitcases from a friend or family member, but sometimes it’s just nicer to have your own stuff. At least it’s one of those things you have to purchase like…hardly ever. This is me promising to NOT overstuff and bust another zipper. Hold me accountable, people!

I also texted Josh right after and told him that we were going to have to travel more just to make the luggage purchase worth while. 😉 I’m only half kidding though. I do plan to travel more often. Life is short, and traveling is something we’ve always wanted to do. So we’re just gonna do it…fancy teal suitcase and all! 😉

I spend an enormous amount of time doing all of the “normal” life stuff like I’m supposed to. I’ve never pursued a full time career because ya know, I have to stay home with my kids. I’ve put off my bachelor’s degree until jumping back into it at the end of last year. I spend a lot of time feeling guilty every moment I’m away. I’m also a walking contradiction because I spend a ton of time advocating for the idea that motherhood doesn’t have to be all-encompassing. You don’t have to sell your soul to be a good mother. Because ya know, things like souls work out much better when they’re willingly given. I spend a lot of time considering the balancing act that is motherhood and myself, and I usually come out with the conclusion that by doing everything I can for myself, I do even more for my children. Maybe I over think things? Because I do that a lot as well.

I just want to make sure my family does all the living it can before it’s too late! 🙂

I posted a question on my Facebook page yesterday asking where you would go, if you could go anywhere for free?? Hop on over, give me a “like,” and let me know. Maybe I’ll head there next? 😉

Heres to doing more of what you love, and less of what you would call work. Have a good night guys! xx.
